REVIEWS
Rich, rhythmic abstraction defines painter Cedric Van Eenoo's mesmerizing ink and watercolor creations. Swirling, spherical shapes, articulated with an ebullient grace, draw a viewer gently yet inexorably into these painterly works. Cascading clusters of affecting, spirited composition captivate the viewer, transforming the banal into poignantly mystical beauty. Cedric Van Eenoo seeks the wild and deep truth, and hypnotizes us through his deft ability to conjure the essence of a thing within his works, allowing our minds to migrate freely through these plush, subtly ornate creations. An earnest search for truth and purity pervades the works, which refresh us in their delicate exquisiteness.
Art-Mine Press Release, NYC, NY, USA, 2011

Abstraction in its diverse uses and meanings can be observed in Cedric Van Eenoo's artwork, choosing to give a conceptual inclination to the usual perception of the world and its ways of representations. Clearly this lost of connection with the real world as it appears results in astonishment and a constant artistic innovation. Through his work, it is possible to subtly perceive his way of expressing feelings, a journey that led him to divest himself of anything that is not essential. Yet the colors and outlines that shape his collection of works produce an amazement in which they articulate our universe of signs and visionary codes. Watery celestial surfaces, purple, pink, entwined with uneven black lines and circles: these are some of his complex and meticulous works which retrieve the essence of universe. The backgrounds of his paintings are enigmatic material interventions aimed to provoke a gentle transparency. This is how, beyond the rupture of that modernization that gave input to the origins of the abstraction, he arrives to use signs associated to what is purely intimate.
Rose Marie Bellemur, Art Critic, Camden Art Gallery, London, England, 2009

Cedric Van Eenoo's paintings have a special use of line and color, his compositions are both minimal yet powerful.
Fine Art Gallery, New York, NY, USA, 2008

Striking and darkly emotive, Cedric Van Eenoo's abstract acrylic paintings are impressive expressionistic works painted in a deep, rich palette of midnight blues, somber reds, lush purples, and illuminated by cool, lucid whites. The colors are profound and brooding as a stormy firmament or the fertile textures of earth. Expansive color fields are bounded by coarse but definitive lines - beautiful imperfections, threads of light, scars and fissures of accumulated time - scratched into the surface of layered medium. Dark landscapes, thickly painted with vigorous, dynamic brushstrokes, Cedric Van Eenoo's works are at once sensuous and somber in hue, arcane and wonderfully raw in style. Cedric Van Eenoo is an artist with the gift of an improvisational mind and the talent for the delicate balancing of structure and aesthetic latitude.
Agora Gallery, New York, NY, USA, 2005

Cedric Van Eenoo lets his eyes wander over the least significant of things, all these things that surround us but we rarely notice. Using acrylics and inks in shades of white, built up with impasto, then scraped and scratched, Cedric Van Eenoo puts the mundane details of our private lives on display. The insignificance of our private lives is revealed with significance.
