RESUME
Born during the Great Depression in Los Angeles. Started drawing as a child during Word War II.

Formal art training at Chouinard Art Institute, Los Angeles in the 1950s.
Earned a B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology at California State University, Los Anegels in the 1970s.

Held various jobs including Jazz saxaphonist, truck driver, silk screen printer, industrial photographer and technical writer before becoming a full-time artist in 2003.

Moved to Southern Nevada in 2004 where he lives and works today.

I was greatly influenced by the music of Charley Parker, John Coltrane, Miles Davis and other Jazz musicians for their improvisational spontinaeity. I try to use these attributes in my painting.

Painters that have influenced me are Klee, Miro, Kandinsky, Pollock, Rothko, Kline and De Kooning.
